"I'M STILL AWAKE" AVAILABLE NOW

Film

The first time I realized I wanted to make movies was when I watched The Goonies with my aunt for probably about the 50th time some time in my later years of childhood. You can ask her how many times we watched it throughout the years. It was way too many, but I could never get enough of it--especially Mikey's monologue at the bottom of the well about what it meant to be a goonie. I was very inspired. I loved Spielberg, too.

As I got older and my artistic vision expanded passed simply action and adventure, I realized I wanted to convey emotion through a lens--similarly how I wish to achieve that through my poetry and prose.  All I've ever wanted was to tell stories, and it's become more evident to me than ever within the past few years that one of the best ways I can do that is through film. Writing the story, bringing it to life through artistic direction, acting, and getting a whole crew of wonderful and talented people together...it's so collaborative and simply human. I love that about it--the connections I make with people on set but also that beautiful, shining tie between filmmaker and viewer.

Filmmaking will always be a magic I admire and wish to utilize. It's an art--and its importance to me can never be summed up in words.

My latest project, I'm Still Awake: The Short Film is out September 16th!
